Violin and Viola Lessons

Laura is an experienced teacher of violin, viola, piano and music theory who has been working in Lincolnshire (based near Grantham) since 2009.

She works with young people from age 3 into adulthood and believes that everyone should have access to high quality music tuition. Pupils can begin to learn to play from age 3 (with parental involvement) and there's no upper age limit - you're never too old to give it a go!

Pupils learn in a supportive and positive environment with 1:1 lessons tailored to each young person's needs. Learning with Laura also provides the opportunity for group and chamber ensemble playing within the Oasby Music Group, which she established in 2013 to give her pupils the opportunity to play together in a group setting. Over the past 11 years, the Oabsy Music Group students have had some remarkable achievements. Click below to find out more!

Laura's pupils regularly give concerts to family and friends, building confidence in performing, as well as playing in (and supporting) the local music festival in Grantham, where both individual players and the group have been the recipients of the Anne Abbot trophy for the best performance of the festival several times.

Lessons take place on weekday evenings or at the weekend from her home in Sudbrook. Most pupils have a regular weekly lesson, but ad hoc sessions are possible for those whom this may suit better.

Lessons last between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on age and/or level of playing and fees are £21 - 30 minutes; £31.50 - 45 minutes; £42 - 1 hour. For children age 3 and 4, a 20 minute lesson can be arranged.

As well as teaching privately, Laura also gives lessons at Ropsley Primary School and Huntingtower Primary Academy.
